Hiking
Great hiking trails for all fitness levels. From casual and gradual to steep and challenging terrain that crosses the Appalachian Trail. There are 8 moderate trails in Woodstock ranging from 1.6 to 4.8 miles and from 692 to 2,450 feet above sea level.
Mountain Biking
The Killington Bike Park is New England’s fastest-growing downhill mountain bike park and features three high-speed lifts serving over 30 miles of trails. From beginner to expert and classic New England to Gravity Logic’s signature flow trails.
Exploring
Shopping in Woodstock, Vermont if you are looking for amazing cheese, Vermont maple syrup, great craft beer, homespun goods, and fun shopping, Woodstock has it all and more. Gillingham’s General Store is exactly what you would expect from a Vermont general store.

Killington Resort’s golf course is open to the public from May through October. There are also another 8 public golf courses within 20 miles of our house.

Land Rover Driving School
The new Land Rover Experience Driving School is open year-round and features off-road driving instruction in all conditions. Participants experience numerous challenges on the 80-acre purpose-built course, with an extensive trail system for exploration. Here you will learn techniques on ascents, descents, side tilts, and rocky terrain.
Farm Visits
With its deep-rooted agricultural traditions, ideal moderate climate, and a large percentage of open farmland, Vermont has grown to be the leading producer of alpacas in New England. Explore cheese-making factories, dairy farms, and corn mazes all within a short drive.
Adventure Tours
Let the excitement begin with a custom-guided ATV/UTV adventure tour of the Killington Mountains. No clutch or shifting just hit the pedal and go! Experienced guides are there to show you the way, and help you in any way they can, taking you to breathtaking views and a variety of Killington’s peaks.
Vermont Bike and Brew
Brewery tours at Vermont Bike & Brew are all self-guided. In addition to a brewery stop, all routes highlight small, local farm stands, cafes, and creameries, and link together the most scenic farmland, dirt roads, and mountain views in each area.
Paddle Board (SUP)
Vermont has a few great spots for stand-up paddle boards that are all very accessible. The breathtaking vistas and variety of paddling conditions make Vermont some of the best areas for exploring beautiful, hidden bodies of water.

Brewery Tours
Long Trail Brewing Company is a regional brewery in Bridgewater Corners, Vermont, United States. Founded in 1989 by Andy Pherson in the basement of the Bridgewater Woolen Mill, the company relocated to its current brewing facility and visitor center. Outer Limits Brewing is another great brewery that is only 35 minutes away.

Vermont Inst. of Natural Science
VINS (Vermont Institute of Natural Science), headquartered in Quechee, VTsitson 47 acres of forest, meadow, and rolling hills, VINS features 17 state-of-the-art raptor enclosures that house hawks, eagles, falcons, owls, and other birds of prey. In addition, the site has two songbird aviaries, which are home to a cedar waxed wing and cardinal among other species.
Summit Killington Mountain
The Killington Peak trail in southern Vermont offers hikers a challenging yet rewarding lengthy hike, with views from the top that will leave you utterly speechless.
US Historical Sites
Visit the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site. A Museum & Education Center, added in 1972 and enlarged in 2010, houses the exhibits and archives recounting President Calvin Coolidge’s private and public lives.
Fall Foliage in Vermont
Best time to see fall colors in Green Mountains and Northeast Kingdom The foliage season in Northern Vermont runs from early September to mid-October. The peak usually falls on the last two weeks of September when visitors can see the whole palette of colors: green, yellow, red, and orange.
Explore Covered Bridges
There are just over 100 authentic covered bridges in the U.S. state of Vermont, giving the state the highest number of covered bridges per square mile in the United States.
High Ropes Course
The Killington Skye Ropes course and the Terra-Maze are pretty impressive contraptions. While you’re on the course, the rope that’s attached to your harness is connected on the other end to a clip that moves along a track overhead. So there’s no hooking and unhooking and kids can move wherever they want without needing any special help.
Road Biking
Vermont offers plenty of biking for people of all ages and abilities. VT has biking trails, some on old rail trails, biking tours, bike rentals, and gear and equipment. Biking can be a great fun family vacation with the kids.
Mountain Roller Coaster
Next to skiing or riding, the Beast Mountain Coaster is the ultimate thrill. Located at Snowshed Lodge, this 4,800-foot-long alpine coaster twists and turns through the woods with 360-degree corkscrews and all-age excitement.
Photography
Vermont is a favorite destination for those who love beautiful autumn colors and gorgeous mountain views, which means the state has a lot to offer for nature and landscape photographers. The scenery can be found in many places throughout the state, so just driving through the mountains can lead to plenty of great photo opportunities.
Zipline
Vermont offers plenty of adventures for the brave of the heart. Killington Adventure Center offers a chance to get your heart racing on one of their dual ziplines that races over both land and water.
Spa Day
The Spa is nestled in The Woods Resort just off the Killington access road. Here you will find 12 private treatment rooms, a fitness center, a sauna, eucalyptus steam, a spectacular indoor pool, and a hot tub. In the summer guests enjoy the outdoor patio and tennis courts. The Spa offers massage, face and body treatments as well as manicures and pedicures.
Gliding
Located within Vermont’s Mad River Valley, Sugarbush Soaring offers flight instruction, scenic rides, rentals, introductory flights, and aero tows. They are open seven days a week from May to October.
